Our Melbourne Chiropractors
Dr Voula Roumel completed a Bachelor of Applied Science Chiropractic in 1987 after switching from her completed Degree in Bachelor of Applied Science Human Movement. She founded Brunswick Health in 1990 after returning from Byron Bay where she started the first Chiropractic practice in 1988 within a Medical centre where the founding GP integrated herbal medicines with more conventional methods.
Dr Roumel has always been intrigued with the healing potential of the human body. How it naturally possesses this inborn ability to adapt and compensate with changing environments and circumstances and how health professionals can harness, assist and promote this natural phenomenon.
This has led to the establishment and continual growth of Brunswick Health incorporating other health professionals bringing about a team of people that love to help people using knowledge, passion and sheer determination to be the best they can be contributing to our community in the most positive way.
The chiropractors at our Brunswick practice are committed to providing evidence-based treatment protocols that are scientifically proven to be effective. We’ve been established since 1990 and are experienced treating many conditions such as back pain, sciatica, headaches, migraines, neck pain….. just to name a few.
Our focus is not just where the pain or problem manifests, but equally importantly why this health issue came about in the first place. Analysis as to where, how, why and what requires thorough investigation and understanding to achieve sustainable results.
Our Brunswick practice guarantees to all new patients that if after the initial consultation we feel that we can’t help you or if you are not satisfied for any reason we will not charge you for your first visit.
We are committed to helping our community and volunteer for worthwhile causes such as helping to raise money for the Cerebral Palsy (CPEC) and the James Macready-Bryan Foundation click here to see our efforts.
Your First Chiropractic Visit
What to expect on your first visit:
When you are seen for the first time by our Chiropractors a thorough health history and examination is conducted to assess your problem. This will include orthopaedics tests, neurological tests, computerised postural assessments and specific muscle tests (isolating each individual muscle and testing its strength and ability).
These tests provide accurate information regarding the function and balance of your body. Should x-rays be required, you will be referred to a local radiological centre that will bulk bill on Medicare attracting little or no cost depending on the bulk billing policy of the centre.
Once the examination is complete, your Chiropractor will recommend the best approach to bring about the health changes you are seeking.
