HELP STOP MEN DYING TOO YOUNG

We’re raising funds and awareness this Movember for all the dads, brothers, sons and mates in our lives.

The Movember Foundation is saving and improving men’s lives through projects focused on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.

We need your help. With every Chiro visit during the month of November, you will be supporting the Movember Foundation.

Be part of helping those that need it most, it only happens because of people like you trying to make a difference!

The man behind the Mo-vement

This is the first year I’ve felt confident enough to grow any facial hair, so hopefully, by the third week, I have a little something to show for my efforts.

Professionally I see men every day who don’t take care of themselves until it is too late, often long after the damage has been done, in a clinical setting this typically involves musculoskeletal based conditions, however, this same mindset underpins bigger health issues, such as prostate, testicular and bowel cancers!

Personally, I’ve also witnessed close friends and family suffer through the mental aspect of men’s health, such as anxiety, depression, and alcohol/substance abuse.

I hope to raise funds, and attempting to grow a ridiculous Mo can allow a discussion and help create awareness for men’s health issues, and hopefully raise a bit of a money in the process to help a great cause.

I’ve wanted to do Movember for several years now so I’m glad to be sporting a Nose Neighbor for November.

As guys, we’ve learnt to be stoic, keeping pain, stress and emotions to ourselves. I want to encourage men to seek help when they need it and to speak up when it comes to stress and hardship.

Mental health is something I feel strongly about. Just like our physical well being it’s something we should continue to work on and improve. Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. The Movember Foundation is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and I want to help them get there.

In addition to this, I am hoping the moustache will help me pull off a Tom Selleck look for a while. We’ll see how that goes…
