Buying from the clinic

Orders are taken over the phone on (03) 9380 8099 or at the counter at 1/68 Melville Road, Brunswick West. Online, you choose how the order reaches you at the payment step: collect it free from the clinic, or have it posted anywhere in Australia by standard or express post. Reception checks stock either way, and books a fitting where you want one.

Some things work better when someone sets them up for you, and they are the ones marked fitting available. A moon boot at the right height keeps you walking evenly. A pelvic belt sits low across the pelvis rather than around the waist, which is the difference between one that works and one that does nothing. A pillow at the right height is the one you keep using.

A fitting is a short appointment with the practitioner the item suits — a chiropractor, physiotherapist or podiatrist — booked when you order. It has its own fee — $78 for a brace, orthotic or moon boot, claimable on any extras policy that includes chiropractic, physiotherapy or podiatry — so a fitted moon boot is the boot plus the fitting, and both figures are on the fees page. Buying the item on its own is just as normal, and it is what almost everyone outside Melbourne does.

Testing you do at home works two ways. A saliva hormone kit is posted to you, and you collect the samples at set times and send them to the laboratory in the envelope provided. Hair mineral testing has no kit to wait for — cut a sample at home, post it in, and the report comes back by email. Neither one needs a trip to Brunswick.

Whether your fund pays a benefit on any of this is a question for the fund, and it is worth the call before you buy. Appliance cover is written policy by policy — ask which items yours pays on and what conditions come with it, because the conditions are where funds differ most. Ask for an itemised receipt with the practitioner's item code on it and the fund has everything it needs from us.

Questions

Ordering, fittings, health fund claiming, returns and postage.

How do I buy something from the Brunswick Health shop?

Add it to your cart and pay online, or call (03) 9380 8099 and reception will take the order over the phone. At the payment step you choose how it reaches you: collect from the clinic at 1/68 Melville Road, Brunswick West — the same day for anything on the shelf, otherwise from the next business day — or have it posted anywhere in Australia by standard or express post. Anything not on the shelf is usually available within a few days.

Which products can be fitted at the clinic?

Moon boots and CAM walkers, sacroiliac and pelvic belts, contoured pillows and crutches. Each works better when the size, height or position is set for you — a pelvic belt sits low across the pelvis rather than around the waist, and a moon boot at the right height keeps you walking evenly. A fitting is a short appointment of its own with a chiropractor, physiotherapist or podiatrist, booked when you order: $78 for a brace, orthotic or moon boot, claimable on any extras policy that includes chiropractic, physiotherapy or podiatry. Buying the item on its own is fine too, which is what most people outside Melbourne do.

Can I claim products on my private health fund?

Ring your fund and ask before you buy — appliance cover is written policy by policy, and your fund is the only one that can read yours. Ask two things: which of these items your policy pays a benefit on, and what conditions come with it. The conditions are where funds differ most, and they are worth hearing in your fund's own words: one will pay on a CAM moon boot only when a podiatrist fits it, another pays whichever way you buy it. Have the product name and the price in front of you when you call. What the clinic does is give you what the fund asks for — an itemised receipt with the practitioner's item code on it, at the counter or by email.

Do I need an appointment to buy a moon boot?

Not to buy one — the boot can be bought here on its own for $115, over the counter or posted to you. You do need one to have it fitted: the fitting is an appointment of its own with a chiropractor, physiotherapist or podiatrist, booked when you order. It is $78, claims on any extras policy that includes chiropractic, physiotherapy or podiatry, and it sets the height and wedging and checks how you walk in it. Which boot suits you — tall or short — depends on where the injury is, so call (03) 9380 8099 before you order if you are not sure, wherever you are.

Current fitting and product fees

Can I prepay an appointment for someone else?

Yes. Add the appointment to your cart and put the name of the person attending in at checkout — your receipt comes back to you, and the time is theirs to choose. Prepaying settles the fee rather than holding a slot, so they book online or call (03) 9380 8099 whenever suits, and there is nothing to pay at the visit.

Can I return a product?

Unused products in their original condition and packaging, with proof of purchase, can generally be returned within a reasonable period. Items that cannot be resold for hygiene reasons once opened — continence products, socks, insoles — usually cannot be, unless faulty. If a product is faulty or does not do what it was said to do, your Australian Consumer Law rights apply regardless of the packaging. The full refund policy is on this site.

Do you post products?

Yes, anywhere in Australia. Standard postage is $16.95 and express is $25.00, whatever is in the box, and you pick one at the payment step. Collecting from the clinic is free. Plenty of it is on the shelf — a moon boot, for one — and goes home with you the same day; anything else is in from the next business day. Ring (03) 9380 8099 before you make the trip and reception will check the item and the size are here, and have it waiting at the counter. A saliva hormone kit posts the same way — the kit comes to you and the sample goes to the laboratory. Hair mineral testing has no kit to post: you cut the sample at home and send it in.

Are the prices on this site current?

Prices shown are GST inclusive where applicable and were current as at August 2026. Stock and pricing can change, so confirm on the phone before making a trip for a specific item — particularly for footwear and larger equipment, which are not always held in stock in every size.
